Is this the last generation mentioned in the Bible ? All the signs and symptoms of human behavior appear to evidence that it is.
There is an epidemic going on currently that is being spoken of in record number where wonderful loving parents whose children have entirely abandoned them, never calling them, never contacting them, never nothing with the parents that supported, protected, provided and loved them. What’s the reason ?
One reason a Christian parent is abandoned is because of the “woke” demonic climate in America. Another is the “me me me” attitude of their children who are now adults and rather than communicate they block their parents. They’re narcissistic. They’re ashamed of themselves and what they have become which was entirely opposite of what they were taught by their Christian parents. They’re ashamed of their immoral sexual life, their drug and alcohol addition, their criminal behavior, and they’re generally unconcerned about any kind of Christian lifestyle or God. That’s it.
Their behavior is also their way of “blaming everything on their parents.” Everything they did wrong and all of the problems they have as an adults, they blame it all on their parents. No accountability even for the emotional love their parents deserve. They do not care. They’re in self serving mode.
What does God say about this ? The Bible views the abandonment and mistreatment of parents by their children as shameful, disgraceful, and a serious act that brings reproach. Scripture says to honor your parents and that those who rebel and cause such division bring shame upon themselves, equating it as violence against family. (Proverbs 19:26)
What a parent does in this situation that is entirely wise, is this. A parent who is being mistreated has absolutely nothing to gain from chasing a grown child of theirs to love them. You let go. Put it in God’s hands, and He will restore and strengthen you. Holy Spirit will give you power and love beyond anything a daughter or son could give. And remember, Jesus brings a “sword” that divides family members, specifically a mother and daughter is found at Matthew 10:34-36 and Luke 12:51-53.
Jesus is giving a choice between following him or maintaining family harmony. When there is no harmony or love from a grown adult child to Christian parents, it is utterly disrespectful and God will judge and repay them for their acts. You, though keep pushing forward. All you can do now is pray for your child. You have your own life to live and every moment is precious. Make good use of it.
