Forces under former Syrian President Bashar al Assad are estimated to have killed over 200,000 civilians during his time in power with the Syrian Network for Human Rights which specifically documenting at least 202,000 civilian deaths including 23,000 children and 12,000 women occurring over the 14-year conflict that ultimately led to his being kicked to the curb. All this stemming from a wide range of atrocities including:
Torture and mass hangings.
An estimated 150,00 disappearances in mass graves.
Chemical attacks on civilians routinely.
