Men Who Don’t Work

There is a vast population of men in America who are entirely disengaged in any effort to earn income, and rather than work, they’ve chosen to be indifferent, withdrawn, detached, failing to seek any sort of employment. There is this behavior in men who are entirely uninvolved in any desire to earn income and these men are in the many millions.

How are these men living ? What is the root cause ? Every man is different, but what creates in a man with a family to support, to become unmotivated is the question. Do they have no employable skills, are they mentally ill, are they suffering the sin of sloth? What is it ? A curse ?

Laziness is condemned in the Bible, but work that is God-ordained, honorable, and necessary to provide for ones self and a man’s family with integrity, serving others is honoring God in everything they do. Work should be done as if working for the Lord, not just human masters. (Colossians 3:23-24) A man’s work provides for his family and the needy and often will contribute to the community. (Ephesians 4:28; 1Timothy 5:8)

The Bible warns that a “slack hand” leads to poverty, while diligent work brings profit and “honor.” (Proverbs 10:4,22:29)

Reminder, what Paul the apostle said “if a man is able to work, but refuses, he should not eat.” (2Thessalonians 3:10)

It’s true. Think of the suffering an able bodied man who refuses to work is casting upon his family. What, does the man expect, his wife to work, and he sits at home ? Some do.

A man’s honest hard work is a way in which he can display love for his creator, love for himself, his family and neighbors. An industrious working man is a total blessing to everyone. Never forget to compliment a hard working man.
