Organ donation is the process of transplanting healthy organs and tissues from one person to another to improve or save lives. Fact: An organ must be taken from an alive human to donate.
Organs that can be donated include the heart, kidneys, lungs, liver, pancreas, intestines, corneas, skin, tendons, bone, nerve and heart valves. One donor can save up to eight lives.
In 1984, the U.S. Congress passed the National Organ Transplant Act which made it illegal to buy or sell organs.
A worldwide criminal racket in organ trafficking exists. There is a huge gap between the demand for organs and the legal supply. Organ donators are registered on their driver’s license in America.
Organ trade generates estimated billions annually. These are highly sophisticated and organized networks involving brokers, recruiters, transporters, and corrupt medical professionals. Operations occur in legitimate medical facilities to disguise the illegal nature of the transplant. Recipients pay exorbitant amounts upwards of $150,000 for a transplant.
Our individual DNA is in our blood and organs. Our bodies are precious temporary vessels created by Jesus. Our time on earth was created by God for one reason only. Jesus said, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and all your mind.” (Matthew 22:37)
It’s our personal decision to become an organ donor. Remember, you are alive and breathing when you donate. Whose DNA are you putting in your sick body when you accept an organ donation ?
