The War of Gog of Magog in the Bible book of Ezekiel 38 and 39 and Revelation 20:7-9 is the apocalyptic prophecy describing the “end-times” invasion of Israel by a coalition of nations led by a figure named “Gog” from the land of “Magog.” Ezekial 38:2-6 identifies Gog as the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, leading forces from Magog, Persia (Iran), Cush (Ethiopia/Sudan), Put (Libya), Gomer, and Beth-tog Armah. Ezekiel 38:8, 11-12 describes the attack happening in the “last days” when Israel is re-gathered and living in supposed safety and peace. Ezekial 38:15-16 states the army will come from “far north” and cover the land “like a cloud.” Ezekial 38:18-22 details God’s intervention including a massive earthquake, fire, brimstone, and confusion causing the attackers to turn their swords on each other. Ezekial 39:9-10 mentions that the weapons of the invaders will be burned for seven years.
Revelation 20:7-9 describes Gog and Magog as nations from the “four corners of the earth” gathered by Satan for a final battle after the Millennium, resulting in their destruction by fire from heaven.
Ezekial’s battle just before or during the Tribulation and Revelation’s after the Millennium are inspired of God and set in place for the future of God’s Kingdom Government which will restore peace on earth and Jesus, the “King of the Jew” as the God of His servants, His disciples for eternity. 1 Timothy 3:16 Matthew 24
