fix one thing then another thing breaks

It’s true. It’s like a Bob Dylan song for crying out loud. It’s part of living. Everything breaks.

For example: You have your car’s oil changed, tires rotated, and all tuned up and then what happens? The a/c goes out and now you need freon.

You just yesterday installed new gutters because your old ones weren’t holding up, then lo and behold the new ones are squeaking on the side of the house when the rain poured down from the gutters and now the pouring water is causing a flood zone by the side of your house that you can’t get through without tearing up your new shoes trying to get to church on Sunday. Now, your new shoes are a mess. Shoes aren’t cheap either.

You’re making eggs bacon and toast, and the cold butter breaks your toast, and you find yourself crunching down on a miserable cold piece of toast that looks like a bear got at it. Your eggs are too runny, but at least the bacon is bacon….so good, but them your dog keeps crying, “Give me some bacon.” You can’t even enjoy breakfast in peace. It’s always something.

Now, it’s time to go to bed; so, you get on your pj’s, lay your head down on your soft pillow, throw the blankets over your feet and realize you forgot to brush your teeth. Then you toss the blankets off, walk to the bathroom and realize you forgot to buy toothpaste. The flickering light bulb you forgot to change goes out in the hallway and you’re leery to walk back to bed afraid you’ll stub your toe, when you stub your toe. “Ouch, you cry, how am I going to get to sleep now.”

You get back in bed. Take a deep breath. You tell Jesus in solemn prayer, “You know Lord, there are two things in life we need in order to get through it; a sense of humor and you know who, you Lord.” Amen! Amen! Good night !

Always Christian with lots of love at Anne Fisher Foundation. Amen !
